WHY CHOOSE A PROFESSIONAL PET SITTING BUSINESS?

Professional pet sitters are just what the description implies – professional. While having friends, family, or neighbours care for your pets may seem like a logical choice, professional pet sitters do this for a living and have the experience necessary to care for your animals and have taken extra steps to put your pets needs first. Hiring a pet sitter is a serious process. Make sure the person you choose is trained and professional. He/she will not only be responsible for your pet, but also will have regular access to your home.

HOW DO WE KNOW WE CAN TRUST THE SITTER CARING FOR OUR PETS/ HOME?

We have a strict hiring process whereby we have carefully selected individuals who we know will best represent our business and provide services in a professional manner. Our sitters all come from pet care backgrounds, and have credible references to vouch for them.

CAN WE REQUEST ADDITIONAL SERVICES FOR EG. DOG WALKING ETC?

Of course, yes, depending on availability / weather, we can include dog walking, however this is not a stand-alone service, but rather an add on to our main packages. We can also arrange for vet trips / adventure walks and so much more. These requests should be discussed at the time of booking enquiry as they do not form part of our service packages.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A CASE OF EMERGENCY?

All our sitters are trained to handle emergency situations, depending on the emergency, we will contact you immediately to discuss your choice of action, however in some cases, especially when it comes to life or death for your pet, we will immediately seek veterinary care and then be in touch as soon as we know your pet is in the care of a veterinary professional.

HOW LONG IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK?

Off peak periods: New Clients: 1x weeks’ notice – this allows us to get the required paperwork and meet & greet handled in a relaxed manner, we do have sitters available to attend to emergency bookings if needed.

Off peak periods: Existing Clients: We require at least 72-hours’ notice from existing clients wishing to book services.

Failure to comply with the above minimum time-frame, bookings will incur an additional last minute booking fee charged at 10% above our normal rate. Also note that the required 50% deposit is payable upon booking confirmation

PEAK PERIODS

There will be no booking refunds or credits for cancellations to pet care scheduled. (School Holidays, Easter, Christmas etc are all Peak Holiday periods)

All major holidays, this includes the week before & the week after the holiday, require a 50% booking fee of the total amount for services at the time of scheduling in order to reserve your placement. This booking fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. Full payment is required no later than the first day of scheduled services. Failure to adhere to these terms will result in a cancellation of your booking

WHAT ARE YOUR CANCELATION POLICIES?

WILL THE SAME SITTER BE ALLOCATED TO OUR BOOKINGS EACH TIME?

We do our best, however in the event of an emergency/ sitter already booked by another client (for sleep in services) we will have to unfortunately allocate a different sitter. Our clients will be able to meet with their “back up” sitter ahead of time, however we can guarantee you that all our sitters will provide you with the same quality of care.

WHAT MAKES YOUR SERVICES SO SPECIAL / DIFFERENT?

Our business has been actively trading since 2013, we constantly push ourselves to improve on our service delivery and gain new knowledge within the pet care industry to be able to offer only the best care to our clients. Our team will go above and beyond for our clients, making their pet care needs take top priority. We commit to being available 365 days of the year, which means that our clients can have peace of mind when having to leave their pets at home.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN YOUR SERVICE PACKAGES?

Our pet care packages are focused on the health, safety & wellbeing of our clients pets, we care for the pet’s needs above everything else, this includes, but are not limited to: Visiting pets as per package selected, physical & mental stimulation, feeding as required & freshening up of water, cleaning up of litterboxes / dog poop, regular updates accompanied by photos / videos sent to client via Whatsapp.

DO WE HAVE TO PROVIDE MEALS FOR OUR SLEEP IN SITTER?

No, our sitters provide their own meals when staying in / sleeping in at a client’s home. All we ask is that the sitter have access to coffee/ tea / sugar / milk / fresh water / cooldrink. Of course, these will be used in moderation.

WHAT IS THE BOOKING PROCESS?

A detailed quote together with our service agreement will be sent to you as soon as we have finalized all details surrounding your pet care needs, upon your approval of our quote & return of the signed client service agreement, the allocated sitter in your area will contact you to schedule a meet & greet.

CAN WE MEET THE SITTER BEFORE WE COMMIT TO USING THE SERVICE?

Of course, yes, we allow all new clients a commitment free consultation which we refer to as a Meet & Greet.

CAN WE BOOK OUR VISITS DIRECTLY WITH OUR REGULAR SITTER?

Unfortunately, not, ALL bookings enquiries / changes / cancelations need to be discussed with me (Desiré McMaster) directly. Our sitters may only be contacted should you have an urgent question regarding your pets / home while they are attending to their visits / service booked.

HOW COMFORTABLE ARE THE SITTERS WITH INDOOR & OUTDOOR CAMERAS IN OUR HOME?

We welcome additional security measures and have no issues with cameras, however Pawsitive Pets providers have a reasonable expectation of privacy in certain areas on our client’s property, therefore we ask that no recording devices be placed in bathrooms or bedrooms, where our sitters will be sleeping during their stay – we ask that you kindly respect their privacy and inform our sitters of any cameras / recording devices placed in other areas in or around your home.

WHAT IF WE DON’T HAVE PETS, CAN WE STILL BOOK YOUR SERVICES?

Our services are not limited to pets only; we also offer House Sitting services and also basic garden/ indoor plant care. We have also aided the elderly / recovering patients who are home but struggled to feed or play with their pets. Our services can be customised to assist almost all home & pet care needs.

WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

We prefer EFT payments, its affordable, reliable & safe. Please discuss with us should you not have EFT facilities.
